Great Basin Bristlecone Pine - Bristlecone Pine Trail - East of Cedar City, Utah.

Great Basin Bristlecones' are the oldest living things on earth. Some are recorded to be over 4,000 years old. It is hard to judge it's age, but this tree could be over 2,000 years old. Most of this species reside in our Great Basin of eastern California, Nevada and western Utah. They are found at elevations between 10,000 to 11,500 feet, with a few found as low as 8,500 ft. The fun part of finding these trees is that they exist in only a few places on earth. These are at about 10,000 feet and accessible to anyone on Hwy. 14.
