"The greatest good for the greatest number" - San Juan National Forest - Hermosa, Colorado.

Gifford Pinchot, the first supervisor of what is now our National Forest system and one of our most notable conservationists, first made and believed the above statement was the best way to manage our forest resources. I believe he was right. Setting aside or 'preserving' our forests through more or larger Wilderness areas is not only wasteful, but irresponsible. Failure to manage our National Forests and enlarging Wilderness has only produced catastrophic results. Compare privately managed forests in this calendar to see the results of what can be accomplished with well thought out, 'environmentally friendly', sustainable and renewable management plans.
In today's world.... management is the key to sustaining life and the future.
