Vermont's Famous Fall Color – 'Smugglers Notch' - Jeffersonville, Vermont
Forests cover much of Vermont. Today's forest landowners are faced with enormous and costly challenges. Timber production has been one way that larger land owners can maintain the current forest dynamics, while supplying wood for our needs, and be able to afford to pay yearly land taxes and management costs. For many smaller forest landowners, these costs have been too expensive. One thought has been to provide cost incentives to all forest land owners for good management practices, promoting sustainable forestry.
